A Cross-Cultural Musical Journey
Experience an evening where Appalachian folk, jazz, and Indian classical traditions intertwine in ways you’ve never heard before. Davis & Haleigh—a violin and acoustic guitar duo from Birmingham, AL—join forces with Vishnu R, an award-winning Carnatic fusion artist from Bengaluru, India, to create a sound that is as ancient as it is new.
At the center of this collaboration is spontaneous musical dialogue, blending Davis & Haleigh’s intricate string interplay with Vishnu’s mesmerizing NAVTAR®—a self-invented 9-string hybrid instrument that merges fretted, fretless, and harp-like textures. The only instrument of its kind in the world.
The result is a performance that is dynamic, soulful, and transcendent—a tapestry of virtuosic improvisation, soaring melodies, and cross-cultural rhythmic exploration. At just 29 to 32 years old, these visionary musicians are carrying forward centuries-old traditions with bold, modern artistry.
For lovers of world music, improvisation, and the unexpected, this concert promises a one-of-a-kind listening experience that speaks to both the heart and the spirit.

Born out of the simple idea of being able to play anywhere at any time, Rivers is central Pennsylvania’s alt-folk powerhouse. Brought together and baptized by the mighty Susquehanna, the duo creates an eclectic inundation of sound using only simple acoustic instruments.
Made up of Joe Schaefer on upright bass and Vincent Yarnell on acoustic guitar and banjo, Rivers delivers an electrifying array of technical nuance and heavy-thumping beats worthy of remembrance. Their style is a wash of genres that defies classification and leaves audiences thirsty for more.
Now this folk slaps.

A Night of Patina, Vintage, and Soul
Join us for an evening of all-star writers with soulful storytelling styles, hosted by Jerry Holliday.
Jerry Holliday is a folk-blues singer-songwriter based near Chattanooga, Tennessee. Raised across the Mid-South and shaped by roots in church music and country gospel, his songs explore memory, place, and personal mythology. His latest single, White Stag Blues, is the first release from his upcoming EP.
Marina Madden is a songwriter, farmer, and dancer who grew up in the Charlottesville, Virginia Irish and old-time folk communities. Her Americana-leaning songs carry threads of the people, places, and artists who shaped her journey. Though the mountains of Virginia will always be her home, she now resides in Nashville with her husband and dog.
Jessie Gray has been called a songbird who transports listeners to another era. With a voice reminiscent of Molly Drake and Edith Piaf, her tin pan alley charm and melancholic warbles evoke nostalgia for the 1920s. Her music overlays the poetry of the natural world with the dream world, creating something haunting, delicate, and unforgettable.
Step into a night for the old souls—where timeless voices meet vintage spirit, and every song is steeped in history, heart, and a touch of the otherworldly.

An Evening with Tennessee Jet
Before Tennessee Jet became known for his genre-defying music that straddles the line between Red Dirt country and grungy rock, he traveled the interstates with his bronc-riding father and barrel-racing mother. From the bench seat of an old Ford pickup truck pulling a horse trailer to the next rodeo, he’d watch the hills and grasslands of America fly by.
Country music was always on the radio, and those honest, heartfelt classics by icons like Willie Nelson and Dwight Yoakam — both of whom he’d later join on tour — left a permanent mark.
Tennessee Jet’s newest album, Ranchero, continues his diverse musical explorations, blending twangy guitars and Appalachian fiddle with a grungy groove in tracks like “Ray Wylie Hubbard” and the platinum-streaming hit “Bury My Bones.” This album not only nods to his roots but also pushes the boundaries of what country music can be, showcasing his full-band capabilities and collaborative spirit.
Throughout his career, Tennessee Jet has been on a constant journey of self-reinvention, creating music that’s uniquely his own.
“My career has been a constant purging of what I’ve done before, so I can reinvent and create something that’s uniquely me,” he explains.
His approach has always been to fuse the contrasting elements of rock’s distorted stomp with country’s twang, paying homage to influences like Neil Young and Jack White while crafting narratives that reflect a lifelong exploration of self and place. His lyrics reference literary heroes like Faulkner, Shakespeare, Kerouac, and Woody Guthrie, alongside vivid depictions of his own experiences — from speeding down the Indian Nation Turnpike to honoring the DIY ethos of his early days.
“I’m always looking to challenge the definition of what a specific genre is supposed to sound like,” Jet says. “People are aching for truth in country music again, and that’s what these records came to represent.”
His albums — from South Dakota through The Country and now Ranchero — stand as a testament to his artistic crossroads, where nostalgia meets innovation, crafting a version of country music that is both fresh and familiar.

An evening with Cory Branan
Over the last two decades Cory Branan has released five albums to much critical acclaim from NPR, Pitchfork and Rolling Stone among others, who called him, “A country boy with a punk-rock heart.” He has toured extensively, appearing on stages from Letterman and the Ryman to your town’s shittiest punk bar.
“...a career stacked with lonesome country anthems to life on the road, delivered in a voice that's pleasantly weathered.” - NPR
Branan’s songs have been covered by such artists as Frank Turner and Dashboard Confessional. He has also collaborated with the likes of Jason Isbell, Laura Jane Grace (Against Me!), and Craig Finn (The Hold Steady)who have been included as featured guests on previous records. Branan has even been mentioned in the Lucero song, “Tears Don’t Matter Much” with the lyrics, “Cory Branan’s got an evil streak, and a way with words that’ll bring you to your knees.”
“It’s rad”, says Branan, “to have a new home with nice folks at Blue Èlan who’ve threatened to turn me loose to make my kind of weird American music, and I’m really looking forward to getting into the studio this fall and giving it hell.”

She Had Glass Eyes Book Release Party Featuring Music from the Author, Jhett Black AND Okapi.
Callie Sioux is an award-winning songwriter, rock ’n’ roller, and bass player whose work spans music, fiction, film, and audio drama. Raised on a New Mexico ranch, her stories and songs reflect wide open spaces, grit, and persistence. Her audio epic drama, 1232, has launched her into the audio storytelling world, and a nomination for best Audio Drama 2025 RMA. With a recent signing to Twenty Hills Publishing, her Victorian Gothic Thriller, "She Had Glass Eyes" will be available in a bookstore near you. Based in Chattanooga, TN, she performs regularly, co-runs The Woodshop music venue, and continues to blend frontier spirit with southern creativity.
About Okapi:
The avant-folk duo Okapi, based in Asheville, NC, features Scott Mitchell Gorski (harmonium, voice) and Lindsey Paige Miller (cello). Typically an upright bass/cello group, they’ve recently taken an alternative compositional approach that explores traditional murder ballad themes and other folk elements through personal interpretation and contemporary lenses. As an ode to Southern Appalachia, this body of work honors an independent study of sacred songwriting and balladry from their own unique perspective. Ranging from poetry with atonal noise to lullabies and ominous chants, each piece tells a distinctive story—depicting humanity's complex, corrupt, and unavoidably tethered relationship to nature. As a whole, this collection of songs encapsulates man’s harmful ignorance and exploitation of natural resources, fueled by speciesist tendencies and a general disrespect toward the overarching, governing power of the divine feminine—which inevitably leads to man’s unmerciful demise.

Larry & Joe were destined to make music together.
Larry Bellorín hails from Monagas, Venezuela, and is a legend of Llanera music. Joe Troop is from North Carolina and is a GRAMMY-nominated bluegrass and old-time musician. Larry was forced into exile and is now an asylum seeker in North Carolina. Joe, after spending a decade in South America, found himself stranded back in his hometown during the pandemic. While Larry worked construction to make ends meet, Joe’s acclaimed “latingrass” band, Che Apalache, went on hiatus, leading him to focus on advocacy work with asylum-seeking migrants. Then, Larry met Joe. Currently based in North Carolina’s Triangle region, the two are versatile multi-instrumentalists and singer-songwriters on a mission to show that music has no borders. As a duo, they perform a fusion of Venezuelan and Appalachian folk music on harp, banjo, cuatro, fiddle, maracas, guitar, upright bass — and whatever else they decide to throw in the van. Their program blends their rich musical inheritances with storytelling about the ways music and social movements intertwine.
Nicholas Edward Williams Opening:
Host of the roots music history podcast American Songcatcher, Nicholas Edward Williams is a multi-instrumentalist and storyteller dedicated to “playing it forward” by preserving the songs, stories, artists, and styles that have shaped our country — Ragtime, Piedmont Blues, Early Country, Traditional Folk, and Old-Time.
Williams has spent the last 15 years touring three continents, performing across the U.S., as well as the UK, Western Europe, and Australia, blending the roots music spectrum into his own distinctive style.
Under his previous project, Whetherman, Williams independently released eight well-regarded records from 2007–2018. Under his own name, his critically acclaimed sophomore release, Folk Songs For Old Times’ Sake (late 2021), has been praised by respected figures of the roots community, including David Holt, Oliver Wood, Dom Flemons, and JP Harris.

William Elliott Whitmore’s gravel-deep voice first turned heads far beyond the Americana underground when his haunting version of "Bury Me Not On The Lone Prairie," appeared in Red Dead Redemption. With the fire of a 1920s gospel preacher and a fascination with sin, death, and redemption, Whitmore conjures a raw blend of country blues, field hollers, and punk spirit. His music feels unearthed rather than written—timeless, weathered, and fiercely alive.
Raised on a small farm in Lee County, Iowa, Whitmore grew up working the land and absorbing the music of his family—banjo, accordion, guitar and all. After early days in the hardcore punk scene, he carved out a singular voice with his 2003 debut Hymns for the Hopeless, later signing to punk-rooted label ANTI- and releasing a string of acclaimed albums. His most recent, Silently, The Mind Breaks, returns to stark, powerful storytelling—proving once again that his songs aren’t just performed, they’re lived.

REMEDY TREE burst onto the scene at the 2023 IMBA Ramble Showcase, captivating audiences as one of the Southeast's hottest emerging bands, taking 2nd place at the 2025 SPBGMA Band Competition. Sharing stages with legends like Peter Rowan, Rhonda Vincent, Ricky Skaggs, Della Mae, and The SteelDrivers, they're redefining the boundaries of bluegrass and Americana.
“Remedy Tree from St. Augustine was a pleasant surprise. I had not seen this band before. They bill themselves as a mix of bluegrass, old-time, and Americana with a progressive edge. They are all of this and more, but are far more traditional sounding than they give themselves credit for. Give this band a listen when you get the chance.” — Bluegrass Today

Raised on American Roots music in Eastern Tennessee, Daniel Kimbro is a multi-GRAMMY-nominated musician with more than 20 years of experience performing, recording, and writing Roots music. As an accompanist, Daniel has shared stages and studios with notable artists including Eric Clapton, Jerry Douglas, John Hiatt, The Transatlantic Sessions, Sarah Jarosz, and many others.
While his recording credits are numerous, his new solo album Carpet in The Kitchen best epitomizes Daniel’s experience as a writer, composer, and arranger. This debut collection features lyrics set within musical scapes that evoke murder ballads and story-songs rooted in the folk traditions of Scotland, Ireland, England, and his native Appalachia. The opening track, “Loyston,” remembers the upheaval brought by the displacement of his fellow Appalachians with the construction of the TVA dams, focusing on the inundation of the eponymous town in Northeast Tennessee. Guest appearances on Carpet in The Kitchen include Jerry Douglas on slide guitars, Mike Baggetta (Nels Kline, David Wax Museum) on electric guitar, and Jordan Perlson (Gary Burton, Becca Stevens, Snarky Puppy) on drumset.
Known to listeners across the US, UK, and Canada for his work with the folk-blues trio Harley Kimbro Lewis, Daniel continues to tour these regions with Sarah Jarosz, The Jerry Douglas Band, The Earls of Leicester, and others. When time allows, Daniel can be found on bodies of water of any size with a fly rod in hand. He is a passionate advocate for the conservation of fisheries and watersheds near his home in Knoxville, Tennessee.
